[step-by-step guide] How to record Google Meet calls

Before you record a Google Meet call:

Prepare your computer before using the Google Meet call recorder to avoid faulty calls. Before you record a Google Meet video call, there are a few simple steps you should take:

  • First, understand that it takes a lot of computer processing power to record video calls with a third-party device. In order to get the best results, turn off any unneeded applications and notifications. It will help with the overall performance of your computer.
  • Make sure your audio gets recorded. Built-in mics work well for having a conversation, but they’ll disappoint in a recording. Consider using an external USB headset or microphone. If you have an external webcam, it may have a microphone built into it that will provide good enough audio.

Adjust Callnote and start recording on Google Meet:

  • Launch Callnote and adjust the settings in Recording Options -> Google Meet tab. Make sure you have enable Google Meet recording selected. Select the record video option if you wish to have both audio and video recorded.
  • Make sure to check off the audio devices you are using in Callnote settings tab for optimal performance.
  • Start the call and simply hit the Record button on the Callnote widget. This will start capturing audio and video as long as your settings as mentioned above are properly checked off.
  • You can also set your settings to record your calls as soon as they start automatically.
  • Callnote records your screen as you see it during the call. Pause or stop recording at any moment by clicking on the appropriate buttons. Callnote doesn’t have any recording time limitation, at the same time please mind that by pressing the Stop/Start button the recording will resume with a new file saved in your Library.

When you hit stop, the audio and video files are saved in the Callnote Library in multiple tracks. Each side of the audio is saved as mp3 files, and videos are saved as mp4, which is easy to playback on any video player.

Once in the library, calls can be edited, forwarded, or transcribed.

The Google Meet video call recorder offers editing tools to refine your audio and video: cut any unwanted piece, add audio narration to highlight key points, and build a compelling narrative with titles. With editor you can add notes and tag your Google Meet clips to keep your projects organized.

Automatically convert spoken Google Meet calls, interviews and broadcasts into written transcripts, or stories and blogs. These auto-generated transcripts can be configured to allow for some manual correction and the timing information they contain can be used to automatically subtitle and caption your video recordings.

When you’ve finished editing or transcribing, upload the recording to the Cloud. Callnote recorder is integrated with Evernote, Dropbox, GoogleDrive, Gmail, YouTube and OneDrive. Go to the sharing options tab to set up forwarding
