How to set up automatic export to the Clouds

Once you’ve done with editing your recordings, you may want to export them to one of the integrated clouds, to post them in social media or to email them. With Callnote you can instantly send your recorded content – video and audio files, chats and snaps, transcribed text and subtitles. 

To set up automatic sharing, open the app, go to Sharing Options tab and select a destination. Callnote Regular users have the option to export the files to Dropbox. Callnote Premium users have a more extended list of destinations including Dropbox, Evernote, Facebook, YouTube, and Gmail. And Pro users have the full stack of options with OneDrive, GDrive sharing available.

If you choose Dropbox, for example, click on the Dropbox icon. Click Connect and your Dropbox account login page will be opened in the browser. Please login and click OK when the Dropbox account page is opened in your browser.

Once you’re connected you can select:

  • Upload your recordings automatically
  • Confirm forwarding before sharing
  • Select which types of recordings to share

The principle is the same for Evernote, YouTube, Facebook, GDrive, OneDrive, and email sharing. In case you are having some issues with forwarding, we suggest Disconnect and Connect again.

Please note: Uploading files longer than 15 minutes might require updating your YouTube account.

Record Zoom Meetings as a Participant on PC and Mac

Zoom is really a great tool for video conferencing, group chats and business collaboration. By default, only the host can initiate recording in Zoom. If another participant would like to record, the host will need to provide permission to that participant during the meeting. 

Now with Callnote video recorder you can capture Zoom conference you’re attending even without host’s permission or acknowledgment.  Callnote records both audio (in mp3 format), video (in mp4 format) streams, as well as instant messages in a conference, to retain a record for future purposes.

How to Record a Zoom Meeting?

Before the Zoom meeting in Callnote’s Recording Options Tab -> Zoom you need to select #Record video along with audio and #Always start recording.. to record Zoom conferences automatically.

Callnote Pro users also have an option to record video in HD (the option is selected in the Settings Tab).

And you’re good to go, no other set up needed. Launch Zoom, join in a conference and interact as you normally do.

While you’re on a meeting and want to start the recording, just click the “Record” button. A pause and stop buttons will then be shown when the recording starts.

Once you stop the recording, the captured Zoom meeting will be saved in your Callnote Library Tab and locally on your computer.

  • If you want to save it on cloud storage you also have the options to do it. Go to Sharing Options Tab to set up the forwarding.
  • If you need to edit the recording, go to Library Tab and select either audio or video editing option. This blog post guides you thru Callnote Library Options Tab
  • If you need a text transcription of the recorded Zoom meeting go to Library Tab and select “Transcribe”.

  • Find the recordings

Clicking the directory button forwards you to the place where all Callnote’s files are saved on your computer. Your audio recordings are saved as mp3 files and video as mp4 files. Callnote records both sides of the call as separate audio tracks.

  • Sort the recordings

Use the header row to sort the recordingsby date and time, by participants, by duration.

  • Review/playback the recordings

Select the recording and press the review button. The recording will be played back to you with the default media player.

  • Delete the recordings

Select one or several recordings and click the Delete button to remove them from the Library.

  • Share the recordings instantly

Store the recordings in the Cloud – Google Drive; OneDrive; Evernote; Dropbox or share via Facebook or Youtube instantly.  You need to set up forwarding in Sharing Options Tab beforehand.

How to Record Skype for Web and Google Meet Video Calls

Callnote enhances callers experience by adding the capability to record Skype for Web and Google Meet video and audio calls, shared screens and chats and also to take instant snapshots during the video calls. Options are available in Premium and Pro versions.

Before starting recording:

Prepare your computer before recording to avoid re-recording and save editing time. The truth is video calls aren’t always high quality. They get impacted by a lot of different factors including how smooth and fast your system is running, your internet connection, and your microphone and camera quality.

Before you hit record, there are a few simple steps you should take.

  • First, be mindful that it takes a lot of computer processing power to record video calls and run programs like Hangouts Meet and Skype for Web at the same time. To get the best results, turn off any unneeded application. It will help with overall performance of your machine.
  • Secondly, make sure all notifications are turned off.
  • Make sure your system audio gets recorded. Built-in mics work well for having a conversation, but they’ll disappoint in a recording. Consider using an external USB headset or microphone. If you have an external webcam, it may have a microphone built into it that will provide good enough audio.
  • Make sure your guest’ s audio to be recorded as good as it can be. Consider recommending the other side of the conversation a mic or headset described above.

Record Google Meet and Skype for Web calls:

  1. Click Recording options tab – Google Meet to customize your recording settings. Select #Record Video if needed. Select #Reduce black borders.. If needed.

  3. Launch Google Meet / Skype for Web in your PC or Mac browser and start or answer a call. Click the red Capture button on Callnote widget and start recording.
  4. Once the call is ended you may find the recording made in Callnote Library. Library Tab is the place where you can preview the recording, make edits in audio and video or order a transcription and generate subtitles. Library Tab
  • Select the needed recording and start refining. Callnote offers good choices for your post-editing. You can cut needless parts of the video, change audio stream or add some notes and titles to the recorded calls.
  • Directory button redirects you to the folder where all Callnote recordings’ files are saved on your computer. Callnote saves separate audio tracks for each guest in a Hangout Meet and Skype for Web conversation.
  • Share Button allows you to forward video, audio, chat, snaps, transcription and subtitles files directly into your Dropbox account, Evernote, Google Drive, OneDrive, upload to YouTube or Facebook, and send in an email. Use the Sharing Options Tab menu to set up manual or automatic sharing options.

How to Record a Skype Call in Windows and Mac Os When You’re Running the Latest Version of Skype for Desktop


We released the update for users who have the latest versions of Skype installed. This applies to users with Skype version 8.x, 12.x, installed on their Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 and Mac OS X desktops.

Please note that some Skype recording options have slightly changed in this version. It was a forced measure for us, as Skype developer turned off all connection options for external products, that is for Callnote.

Changes:

  1. No Connect button in Skype recording options.
  2. No option to start recording automatically.
  3. Callnote record widget appears immediately once you start or answer a Skype call. So, please stay on the Skype screen window and do not forget to press the “Record” button to start recording.

 

 

To install the update

Registered users:  please click Update in Callnote window. Download and install the new version on your desktop. If the update does not take effect, please click “Check license” in the bottom left corner.

New users: please go to download page and select the license type among Basic, Premium and Pro. Click Download and enter your details to register.

If you need your Callnote starts recording Skype calls automatically, please consider downloading Classic Skype for Desktop version (Skype 7.x). Navigate to https://www.skype.com/en/get-skype/ and choose “Get classic Skype”.
